A lot of SEGA's more lovable characters, such as Sonic, Tails, Aiai and Amigo to name but four, have already been named as racers in the upcoming Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing game, which will be released on Wii and Nintendo DS among other platforms. Today, though, the company has confirmed that Ryo Hazuki of the Shenmue series will be a playable character.

They also released a video alongside the announcement - it's in HD, so if your computer or internet connection isn't up-to-scratch, click the HD button when the video starts to drop the quality.

Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing will be released worldwide in the first half of next year.
